This Privacy Policy applies to data collection by Catalis Courts and Land Records, LLC through courtinnovations.com and the Faulkner and Van Buren County District Courts's Online Case Review (“Catalis” “we” “our” or “us”) while you (“User” “you” or “your”) use this website, courtinnovations.com (the “Site”). Other Catalis-related communications, capabilities, and services (“Services”) that state that they are offered under a different privacy policy are not governed by this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Catalis collects information from you on this Site. Your right to privacy is very important to Catalis. We recognize that when you choose to provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible manner. We believe this information should only be used to help provide you better service. We have put this policy in place to describe our practices regarding information disclosed by users. We hope that this policy will enable users to make an informed decision when asked to disclose information on courtinnovations.com.

Courtinnovations.com is intended for use by litigants, court administrators, judicial staff, attorneys and law enforcement agencies in the Faulkner and Van Buren County District Courts (the “Court”).

User Tracking and Data Capture Practices

Catalis collects and aggregates user information regarding use of our website and Services. This is for purposes of statistical and other analysis to help us improve our websites and the Service. Catalis may collect and record domain names and/or IP addresses. This tells us what Services are used by distinct users but does not tell us the individual identities of the users.

In order for us to provide Services, we do require and record personally identifiable information. Information we collect includes the date of your ticket or citation, driver license number, date of birth, name, address, email address, phone number and other personal information to enable us to complete the specific online transaction using the Service. By your use of the Service and the Site you consent to the collection of such information. This data collection is done with your active permission and participation by your use of the Service.

We may also collect credit card information, including name, billing address, credit card type, credit card number and credit card expiration date. After you enroll for the Service, this information is used for verification purposes, to provide the Service and to pay and remit fees to the Court.

Once you sign in to the Service or use the Service to perform a case search (either through the Court website or www.courtinnovations.com) you are not anonymous to us. Only the minimum set of required information for online review of your case using the Service and processing credit card transactions is requested and stored. This information is necessary for payment processing and enabling use of the Service, including access to electronic court records. It will be used only for such purpose and will not be shared by third parties for their marketing purposes. No individually identifiable information will be used in usage pattern reporting.

We may also use “cookies” in providing the Service. A cookie is a small amount of data which often includes an anonymous unique identifier which is sent to your browser from a website's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. The data stored in these cookies is read by the Court website or the Court Innovations website for the purposes stated above. You can set your web browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. The Service may be impaired if you decline to accept cookies.

Confidentiality and Data Security

Unless required by law, the Court, or to provide you with Services, Catalis will not transfer, sell, or otherwise make available to third parties personal information. We limit access to personal information about our users to those Court administrators, attorneys, and police agencies for whom we believe such access to be appropriate in light of the functions and responsibilities of their jobs.

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information that is stored in our systems from unauthorized access. Our systems are configured with full 128-bit SSL-based data encryption or scrambling technologies and with firewalls to help protect confidential information, such as names, addresses, credit card numbers, and passwords. We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card number when confirming an order. However, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing and do not store credit card information directly.

Protection of Passwords and Online Case Review Information

The Service is provided to facilitate online case review of your case before the Court. It is crucial that, as a user of the Service, you protect against unauthorized access to your password or online case review information and to your computer and that you always sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Email and Text Messaging

A useful feature of the Service is to notify you of the status of your case and online case review through email to your designated email account or text messaging. By use of the Service and providing an email or telephone number, you consent to the use of email and text messaging on activity regarding your case.

If you provide your email address, we may use it to email you case status updates and notifications. If you provide your cell phone number, we may use it to text you case status updates and notifications. In each case these may include updates on matters such as when court personnel have taken action on your case or when a new case linked to you has been found in your system. You are solely responsible for all charges, including but not limited to, data charges and text messaging charges associated with emails or texts that we may send to you.

Information Voluntarily Provided

In using the Service, we may request that you participate in surveys. Your participation in these activities is completely voluntary. We will use the information obtained through your participation in these activities to improve our websites and the Service. We will not sell or otherwise make this information available to unrelated third parties for their marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We will retain personal data for as long as required to provide you Services, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include: The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide our services to you (for example, for as long as you have an account with us or keep using our services); Whether we have a legal obligation to keep the data (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time before we can delete them); or Whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).

Children

The Site is not intended for use by children. We do not intentionally gather Personal Data about visitors who are under the age of 13. If a child has provided us with Personal Data, a parent or guardian of that child may contact us to have the information deleted from our records. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us at support@courtinnovations.com. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected the Personal Data of a child under 13, or equivalent minimum age depending on jurisdiction, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.
